Founded in 1956, Elmea Srl, an acronym for “Elettromeccanica, Automazione” (Electromechanics, Automation), is a benchmark in the design, manufacture and marketing of automation systems for sheet metal working.
Since its inception, the company has contributed to Italy’s post-war industrial development, distinguishing itself as a pioneer in technological innovation.
The intuition and passion of its founder, Engineer Angelo Coletta, combined with the expertise and dedication of the entire Team, have guided the company along a path of constant growth.
Today, ELMEA is recognised as a leader at European and international level, particularly appreciated in the most demanding markets, such as the German automotive industry, for the high reliability, quality and durability of its solutions.

What sets us apart is the internal management of every stage of design and construction, which allows us to have total control over the process and guarantee the quality typical of Italian manufacturing.
With a staff of 35 people, many of whom have long experience in the company, Elmea operates in a large factory in the province of Milan, in Robecco Sul Naviglio, organised into specialised departments:
- Iron bar cutting
- Carpentry and welding
- State-of-the-art machining centres: lathes and milling machines
- Roller tempering
- Gear cutting
- Painting booth
- Machinery assembly
- Electrical department for system design and construction
- Machinery testing
- Warehouse for iron, semi-finished products and components
- Technical, administrative and after-sales service offices
Production includes various categories of machinery:
- Unwinders and rewinders
- Motorised straighteners and motorised straighteners with feeders
- Electronic feeders
- Cutting units
- Complete systems, obtained by grouping and interfacing the above-mentioned machines in line

1950s – 1960s
The company took its first steps by focusing on the manufacture of electromechanical devices for the operation of mechanical presses, laying the foundations for the expertise that still characterises us today.
1970s
A period of strong growth began with the large-scale production of complete machinery and systems, made from standardised cast iron structures and designed to ensure robustness and reliability.
1980s
Technology evolved rapidly and the company introduced its first electro-hydraulic control systems, followed by electronic ones, making the machinery and plants increasingly advanced and efficient.
1990s
The development of highly advanced press servo systems is established, accompanied by a growing ability to customise solutions according to the increasingly specific needs of Customers.
2000s to present
Constant mechanical and electronic engineering work continues, aimed at continuously improving the performance of press systems presses and individual machines.
