Electronic Feeders for sheet metal: technology and performance
Electronic feeders are automatic devices designed to move and position sheet metal strips with precision inside presses and shears, constituting a fundamental element in servo lines. These press feeders take the material from the coil and advance it by a preset amount with each stroke of the press, working in sync with the movement of the ram to ensure that the sheet metal remains stationary during shearing or bending. Our company designs electronic feeders with a compact layout, which optimise space without compromising performance in terms of precision, energy saving and quietness.
The steel rollers are manufactured in-house, tempered and ground for maximum strength, while the high-quality gears produced in our department ensure operational durability. The tilting strip guide facilitates strip entry, speeding up production, the manual lift allows precise alignment at press height, and the pneumatic opening of the rollers reduces set-up times. The 10,000-pulse push-pull encoder and metric wheel measurement technology ensures millimetric control of the material pitch. Sheet metal feeders handle rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminium and copper in various thicknesses and widths, integrating with motorised straighteners, roller straighteners and coilers/uncoilers.
The main advantages of our electronic feeders include:
- High positioning accuracy: consistent quality of the stamped part
- High productivity: up to over 1000 strokes per minute
- Operator safety: elimination of manual intervention in hazardous areas
- Versatility: handling of different materials, thicknesses and widths
- Efficiency: reduction of waste and optimisation of material use
